Faro Airport Check-in

The security situation from Faro airport has been assessed due to the weather forecast for today that predicts wind gusts of around 65 km to 100 km an hour.
The Airport Terminal will be closed to the public from 12:00 to safeguard the security of passengers and employees working there, claims the ANA in a statement. ANA reports that the processing of passengers will take place from a temporary structure in the P6 Parking Airport which is mounted for sheltering.
Passengers will then be transported to Pier Bus Terminal, which will make the segregation of passenger check-in and security procedures. The evacuation of the terminal will take place between 11:30 and 13:30, when there will be a decrease of traffic. Processing, check-in/security and border control will be done on the Pier in rooms designated for that purpose. 122 flights will be processed and until 11:00 hours 28 departures have taken place. 12 flights per hour Will be processed (6 departures and 6 arrivals).  ANA provides twice the processing time and delays for passengers in both the arrivals and departures and therefore regrets the inconvenience caused.

Chaos at Faro airport! 24 October 2011

As if we did not need reminding, this is just a short description of the chaos caused by the early morning storms! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-15438381

The sun comes out again in the Sunny Algarve

The normally Sunny Algarve woke up to mass devastation following a massive storm in the early hours of Monday morning, 24th October 2011!  Faro airport was ripped apart, as was Forum Algarve and the surrounding area, looks like a mini tornado had hit this lovely part of southern Portugal.  The sunshine returned today though and all is well!  Working in São Lourenço is an all-year-round pleasure.
